I'm actively disengaging and "de-strangling" myself from all the myriad service obligations I've been entangled in over the years. I'm only about a third done with that endeavor, but I finally found a few hours this weekend to get on the ham radio for a few hours. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to play.
In the last 40 hours, 22 were spent on the shortwave bands. I made 286 2-way radio contacts, using 100 watts into a wire antenna (model G5RV).
The 76 countries I talked to were: Aland Islands, Anguilla, Antigua, Argentina, Aruba, Austria, Azerbaijan, Azores, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bermuda, Bonaire (formerly of the Netherlands Antilles), Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Canada, Canary Islands, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Curacao (also formerly of the Netherlands Antilles), Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, England, Estonia, Fernando de Noronha, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Guatamala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madiera Islands, Martinique, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, St.Kitts/Nevis Island, St. Vincent Island, Sweden, Turks and Caicos Islands, Ukraine, Uruguay, United States (including Hawaii), U.S. Virgin Islands, Venezuela, and Wales.

Dang.... I've never even HEARD of some of those countries. You sure you're not just making up words? Marinique? Caicos? Bonaire? Haha, that's awesome though. Congrats!
