Worst audit ever. No names or locations, but this was the company from you-know-where. Employees cheating customers. Bookkeeper cheating owner. Owner cheating employees. Lies, frauds, thefts. And everybody wanted to waste hours of my time trying to justify their acts as being "just desserts". Nobody thought what they were doing was wrong. Bad section of town. Sleazy owner. Sleazier employees. Even "Slim's" operations last year didn't hold a candle to this can of worms. I'm dumfounded that the owner agreed to let me check the books. Both he and the accountant are sorry he did, but not as sorry as I am. Sheesh. Worst audit ever.
Anyway, except for the five wasted hours, rest of the day went well. Nice drive to Huntsville, which is Rocket City. There's a private rocket launch company going up on the west end of town.
Did you know there are two (2) U.S. Highway 72's in Alabama? I didn't. But there are. They split in Huntsville. One is a nice four-lane divided highway. The other is a run-down bumpy stop-and-go country lane. Both are signed as US 72. Go figure. Alabama.
While taking the southerly, highway version of US 72, I drove through Tuscumbia, the birthplace of Helen Keller. I didn't know she was born in Tuscumbia. Now I know.
Stopped for a few minutes at the entrance to the Natchez-Trace Parkway... a beautiful place I want to come back to some day when I have a few spare days to explore.
Spent a nice hour or so in Corinth, Mississippi. Had a nice butter-pecan milkshake at the soda fountain in Borroum's Drug Store, which is Mississippi's oldest pharmacy, pre-dating the civil war.
Did you know there is a "National Bird Dog Museum"? Yep, in Grand Junction Tennessee, southeast of Memphis. Go figure. Tennessee.
And here's a picture I got in Mississippi. It's exactly what the sign says. Honest. Do a google search on it. Go figure. Mississippi.
Mississippi wins.

You sure do a lot of driving! It will catch up to them one day.
Drew is DEFINITELY getting an email from me to check out your blog. And to think....he's so CLOSE to the Coon Dog Cemetery. Sounds like a great family day trip. :P
