I'm not a birder, so I have no idea what kind of bird this is, but he was having a blast splashing around in the water of a beaver pond I came across up on the Glacier Gorge trail.

Below is a photo of a wild turkey. Supposedly they are very skittish around people, but I stood real still, and I think she was pre-occupied with finding dinner.

These ducks were almost hidden among the reeds along the shoreline of Bierstadt Lake.

I think the bird below is a Stellar's Jay. Usually jays are noisy alarmists, but this one was completely silent. I don't think he ever saw me because I didn't move until after he'd flown away. He was a lot prettier when he was flying, because his wings are brilliant blue and white.
