Finished at last... but still no rain!

The final fifteen gallons of deck sealer are on the deck now. The oil-based sealer requires petroleum (mineral spirits, gasoline, etc.) to clean up with. Having sprayed over my head, I had sealer in my hair, in my eyes, nose, ears, elbow creases, etc. I used a half-gallon of gasoline to get my skin and hair clean. But the deck is completely done now. And my back hurts. Along with just about everything else. It hasn't rained here in a long time. But heavens knows I tried my best to get it to storm up a storm. I used the second most expensive sealer in the store. I worked hard making sure the sealer covered the wood thoroughly. I took the extra time to do a great job, wiping off the smears and drips from the gutters and downspouts. I even spent two full days doing it. In short I did everything I could possibly do to make it rain, which of course would ruin all the work I'd done. I thought for sure that going to this much trouble, expense, and effort -- especially when I'm in such pain -- would practically guarantee a terrible blowing rainstorm. I figured it had to be much more effective than waxing the car or planning a picnic. But it didn't rain. Have the gods gone crazy?

Hope Debbie will bring us some rain. All she did was send thunder and lightning.
