
Hey, hey, hey--- another picture of... an old barn! Nice mountains in the background. High mountains. Very high mountains.

Yep, that's me standing in front of old 4004, one of Union Pacific's "Big Boy" super-sized steam locomotives. The picture doesn't begin to convey how huge this 4-8-8-4 pufferbelly actually is. The engine was designed for single-handedly pulling a full train 80 mph up the steep grades of the Wasatch mountains between Cheyenne and Salt Lake City, and the UP had to alter the clearances on that route to run these Big Boys.
