It's called "Flaming Gorge" for a reason. But it isn't real fire. I didn't have time to go all the way down to the lake, but I took this photo at the upper end from the top of the plateau.

Why is my hair all mussed in the picture below? Because the wind was blowing about 50 mph, that's why. It has been terribly windy EVERYWHERE I've been on this trip. Everywhere.
So where is Flaming Gorge? (No fair looking at wikipedia!) -- The picture below was taken at a state welcome station, west of Flaming Gorge, across the state line, just outside a town called "Echo". Where am I?
