Bokrijk

Dubby, Allen, and I, along with our Belgian friends Gilbert and Anne, went to Bokrijk today, an outdoor museum containing 15th-century buildings, farms, gardens, and actors dressed up like people from Flanders in the 1400's. It is a Flemish version of the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, only about 20 times larger and more complex. They have probably 100 or more buildings, with live demonstrations (with audience participation in many of them) of blacksmithing, ceramic-making, weaving, carpentry, cooking, cooperage, farming, etc.
At the end of the day, the Stoeppels dropped Allen off at the airport for his trip back to Africa, then took us back to Antwerp. Another fantastic day in Flanders.

And there's Allen. He looks great. I know it was more than nice to have him around for a while.
