Yesterday: went to Brussels airport to meet the students as they arrived. Of course, they aren't students anymore, but business professionals now. Due to flight delays, I had a couple of hours between arrivals so I rode the bus into Brussels Centrum (downtown) and did some sightseeing.
We had dinner at the Pelgrom, a "dungeon-like" ambience in the basement of Old Antwerp, where the buildings date from the 1400's. We then walked home by way of the "voelksgang".
We also stopped by the Australian Ice Cream stand and enjoyed ice cream on a hot waffle. Yum. Then, in the usual Belgian custom, most retired to DeProf, their favorite local pub, for a few more hours' of socializing before calling it a night. A really good time was had by all.
