Veel Soorten Eten

Vlaams Frites (erroneously called "french fries" in the U.S.), hot out the oil, dipped in mayo. Cream of carrot-and-pumpkin soup (not condensed, but ready to heat and eat) that you pour from a paperboard box. A plastic jug of 2% milk that isn't refrigerated but just sits on the shelf in the store and whose expiration date is February 2010. A dozen fresh eggs with a much shorter expiration date, but still no refrigeration, just sitting on the shelf in the store. Smoked salmon puree, to be spread on a small loaf of fresh bread. A box of Kellogg's Special K cereal with strawberries and chocolate pieces. Yep, all that stuff's in our kitchen right now, and it's all yummy. At dinner Thursday night, they had oyster ice cream on the menu as an appetizer. I had the anchovy filet over chilled diced beets before my shrimp tempura. Ask Dubby about the eucalyptus-and-yogurt lollipop. My main dish was lamb burger with mint leaves already mixed in. At Veron last night, I knew better than to order the Inktvis special(known in the U.S. as octopus), and instead had the ham and pineapple pizza. Mussels are coming into season, and at most good restaurants you can order a gallon metal pail of them, steamed and ready to eat. I haven't yet had my white asparagus with chopped egg and melted butter; asparagus season seems to be over. I haven't yet had my croque madame (a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a fried egg on top). Nor have I yet had my chicken durem or doner kebap. But I will. I will.

Eucalyptus? Icky!

I want the croque! I forgot to eat one last time I was in Europe! Though I miss Donors too.
